any personal experience - thoughts - opinions on the 67 Bali . I'm buying a balisong very soon and I'm down to this and one other knife

I did a search and not much came up.

Not much experience with the 62/67 since I prefer the light weight models with a spring latch, they flip better for me. Benchmade Balis are built well and will last you forever.

I wish BM still used the spring latch don't know why they stopped and I wish they still loctite the pivot screws as well. I love benchmade I own a 275 a 741 and a 8600 but loosing those little touches that put them over the moon was disappointing

though I do like the zen pins

I dont have a 67 as I personally dislike tantos and recurves, plus I strongly prefer the usage of the titanium on the 42. Still, if the general construction of the 67 mirrors that of the 42, then it's a great knife and it is built to withstand the abuse a bali can see. And while I am no expert here by any means, I've never held a Benchmade Bali I thought was poor quality. Some I liked more than others due to my personal taste, but all were well-made tools that I have zero question to their build quality and capability.

One thing that divides a lot of bali owners is weight, and that often dictates if ti/aluminum or surgical stainless is a better handle material for them. Some people strongly prefer the heavier SS handles for flipping, so this being in SS handles may be an advantage if you like the additional weight. I personally think the BMs with the ti handles and stainless handles behave very, very differently to a point in which most people will probably ultimately prefer one over the other. The 'T' latch with spring is another people seem to be strongly preferable for or against.

I've done things to a 42 in 440C (most on accident) that are notorious for fracturing handles, locks, pins, screws, etc. I'm not sure if the hardware is titanium or just stainless, but it's durable and has serious impact strength.

So if the 67 uses the same hardware and the SS is good quality (which I bet it is), and has the same fit and finish of the 42, it's one serious awesome of a knife. My only complaint is that I wish BM would use a steel designed more for toughness than edge retention given balis are likely to be dropped and the blades have really fine-quality finishing. I've been holding out hope to see a production run bali in CPM-M4 given how much of a beating M4 can take...

The 51 Morpho in my pic is current production and uses a new style spring latch which is quite innovative. I've had my 42 for 12 years now and never thought I'd like anything else as much but I like the Morpho A LOT. It flips extremely well and the build quality is top notch. The blue anodizing on the titanium liners is not really my thing but I can over look that being that everything else is perfect.

I know BM does great work like I said I own 3 knives from them and considering they started out as a Bali manufacturers I would think they go the extra mile for those.

on the Ti vs Stainless cutlerylover said stainless is harder to work with so there must be a specific reason they went with it over Ti

My favorite is my 42 with Ti handles. Just my preference but I carried an all steel version for years until a member of the local law enforcement told me he could take me in and I would lose the knife and worse. Now they sit in a safe and I only bring them out at home. Great knives, I hope you get many years of enjoyment with your choice.
