I just finished reading the HI forum from start to finish, all 691 pages.

If you have not done it DO IT, it is a wealth of information and about every question ever ask has been answered.

I learned something new on every page.

You will get to know people than have passed on, will morn their passing after getting to know them even though you never met or talked to them.

You will learn the history of Himalayan Imports, the coming and going of the master forgers that make our knives.

Why Traditional ways of making a blade come in conflict with todays thinking and understand " it has always been done that way, even though you don't know why because it has been lost in history".

About life in a very different part of the world and appreciate our quality of life even more.

It will take a while to do it. I spent about 3 weeks going though the post and enjoyed it very much.

Thanks to every one past and present for posting on the HI forum.

I am sad that the reading has came to an end and now await new post to read

Dana, The Forum and I got to be best buds last May.. Seems like it took forever. Ever seen one of those Cookie Monster plush toys with the googly eyes? That's what mine were like after a fortnight or so. You are correct about observing how HI developed and is still developing, the customers and characters, and the myriad khukuri themselves. Interesting, informative., AND entertaining!

What's the best way to do it? The HI forum is only 2 pages for me and the archive is blank unless I use the search function. Is there some sort of "search all" thing I can do?

What you need to do is scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page, below where how many users are in the forum are listed.
There you will see "thread display options". Make sure it is set to "beginning".

yeah same here, love the avatar karda-- and thanks for info dana, HI is a very special place and mainly because of great people who have come and gone with much honor and grace.

I appreciate you doing this and reminding us all what a very awesome place this forum is, and how incredible the work HI does

Welcome Dana.

There are another 192 pages covering the early days on Bladeforums in the archives. The link to get there is in Karda's first post above.

Hi Dana,
I looked through the forum and website and webstore at great length before I made my first HI purchase. I think that was the best part, buying a HI kukri is like buying a piece of history. Every good object should have a story behind it, to breath life into it. I see and feel the history of HI every time I hold one of their amazing kukris in my hand.

The website also has a ton of hidden pages that are begging to be found. I really do love everything about HI... from the blades to its history and everything in between. Please don't hesitate to post any questions you might have. There are many knowledgeable people in this forum who love having their brains picked.

That is exactly how i introduced myself to HI..As i have said, we can buy a khuk from several sites on line, but, after reading the history of HI, we are buying a piece with a meaning...Thanks for passing this along..Hopefully many more will read it and appreciate it...
