I love it when a plan comes together. When the SARGE7LE was released I knew it was only a matter of time before they were available in Red & Black.
So I put my plan into action, I kept my eye on the exchange for a SAR3 in R&B. There it was, only days later, perfect condition and a killer price, so I snagged it.
Now it was time to wait, I did sweat a little when Blue & Black came out next, but then came the Red & Black and things were looking up.
With the combined weight of the SARGE7 and SAR3 just around 1.5oz heavier than the SAR8 I thought they would make a great piggyback set up.
After many conversations over the phone with Eric from Mashed cat, ( Thanks Eric ) he made sure every thing lined up.

Great package!! Looks like it's "Double your pleasure, double your fun" in kydex.
 
Great lookin combo! The sar3 is hard to beat, does it easily come out setup like that? I usually have better luck canting the smaller knife a bit to allow easier withdrawl.

It really works out well with the natural curve of the SAR3 handle. I also warmed the kydex a bit with a hair drier and adjusted the retention to get it where I wanted. I wore it around for a while yesterday and found it carries like any other large blade.
It amazes me that a blade like the SAR3 which was released and sold out several years ago could be so well paired with a new release like the SARGE7.
