here are 3 chip carvers i made for my g/f and her 2 friends that all carve together nothing fancy 1/16 thick 0-1 left at about 62-64rc dymonwood handles 2 emerald 1 fushia one solid block for the handle slot milled for the tang of the blade no real finish work either just right off the belt grinder (well except for the handles wich did get hit on the buffer) i didnt feel that a high finish or anything was important because they will just get used and used and used anyways my g/f's, friend joy wich has been carving for over 20 years said the knife i made holds an ede 10x beter and cuts/chips 20x beter than any production knife she has ever bought and she has owned some 100+ dollar custom carvers before (even thouh they are all pretty much just reground exacto blades, hasnt anyone figured out that regrinding someone elses blade just makes them crappier?)
anyways i know blah blah blah here they are lemme know what you think

Cool, it's a good feeling to make a tool that workes better than something over the counter isn't it. Good way to get rid of the dymond wood too. :D

yeah i was primarily working with dymondwood at first because it it cheap
i got 2 of those from one 3.10$ peice of it so yeah knives like that i will continue to make out of dymondwood there are just sooo many out there colors that someone could use vibrant colors like this to distinguish thier knives from thier friends

thanks again

phil
