7-bar hunter w/ couple progress pics

Here is a hunter I made up from 7 bars of steel. 4 of them were w1 and 3 were w1 and n201 twist.

I just wanted to show how i set up the 7 bar billet so you can see the work that went into such a simple knife. After welding the bar was surfaceground,profiled, and then the the bevels and the taper in the tang were forged in.

The handle is antiqued ivory paper micarta, and the pins are peened nickle silver.

there are 4 small bars of w1, and 3 bars of n201 and w1 twist ready to weld
the n201 and w1 had been previously welded and are approx 3/8'' sq.

hell's belly.......ok this isnt how i run it, i was just testing out a new burner i built, thought the pic was cool. Thats at about 2-3#'s pressure

Good design....and that damascus looks...

....darn near digital.....neat stuff..!
 
thanks russ, I was going to call this firestone because before was forged it resembled a truck tire tread
