7' Friend wants a long handle...

Hey,
A friend of mine who does lots of tree work, has a chainsaw mill and in general loves all things wood/saw/axe... is 7' tall and is looking for a longer single bit axe handle. The longest I can find is 36". Any leads on something in the 45"-50" range? Anyone make handles? It would be a user, but partly he just wants an axe that is proportioned to him, and really big for everyone else.
Thanks

Best luck is probably going to be finding a handle intended for something else and cut down. Maybe one of the longish handles for a brush axe and trim the heavy end for the axe eye?

I'm no pro but if I had a hunk of hickory to work with I'd give it a stab. I'm not up to your friends altitude but at 6'5" I'm used to not having a long enough handle for my own comfort. Wheelbarrows and lawnmowers are particularly annoying.

Only 6'5"? I figured you around 6'7" that day we met. Must have been the shoes.........

I think Elkhunt's friend is best making his own or having one custom made.

Well, 6'5" and 3/4 plus hiking boots but that takes too long to say. Upon a time I made a custom oak bokken for a taller than normal martial arts practitioner.

House Handle made a 42 inch handle as a custom order for a friend of mine awhile ago. I think he wanted it for a Puget Sound pattern head.
