What are some Fixed blades that are about 7 inches overall? I would like it to have a sheath that can be carried upside down on the belt or a kydex sheath with a tek-lok. Handle and blade steel isn't a very concern for me as long as it is good or decent. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

Oops, you said 7" in total.

SURVIVE 7/7
Rodent 7
Ratweiler
Tops 107C/D

Have or had all four. All four are awesome knives. The Rodent and the Ratweiler don't come with sheaths, but there are plenty of kydex makers on the forums with very reasonable prices.

I doubt there is a better package than the Esee 3. Great heat treat, one of the best warranties in the business and relatively unobtrusive.

  • Busse Team Gemini LB (INFI, 7.75"x0.25")
  • Fehrman First Strike (CPM-3V, 7.5"x0.25")
  • Knife Research Legion (Sleipner, 6.7"x0.22")
  • LionSteel M7 (Sleipner, 7.1"x0.22")
  • Pohl Force Quebec One (Sleipner, 7.6"x0.24")

7 inches overall, so I'm guessing he's looking for something with 3 1/2" blade or less. Most of the knives already mentioned do not qualify.

I just got a tops steel eagle 107c. It can be mounted upside down but it doesn't have any retention in the kydex, just Velcro. I may try and make my own sheath insert. Bad ass blade though.

  • What's your budget including sheath?
  • What minimum blade length?
  • What minimum handle length?
  • Blade steel preferences or dislikes?
  • Blade thickness?

I'd think a becker bk11 or bk24 with added macarta handles and a Tac-Loc for the sheath should be perfect for what you seek.

The Spyderco Street Beat is a good small fixed blade. It falls somewhere between 6 and 7 inches and has a nice comfy handle. Has a boltaron sheath with a g clip.

ETA: I just looked up the specs and it's just a hair over 7 inches overall.

Yes, the Spyderco Street Beat is a good one in that range as is the Spyderco Moran and Bark River Bravo Necker 2.

Randall Model 1 or it's variants. I have and LOVE the Border Patrol variant with the green Micarta handle scales and a wide, full tang.
