What's with the funky inconsistent grinds on the 705 pony?
When I got mine last year I wrote the angled grind off as a feature because I did a quick Google search and they all seemed to be that way.
However looking at it more, they sure seem inconsistent and I can't imagine why / how the weird grind could be on purpose.
Has anybody seen one that wasn't like this ?

What's the deal, why couldn't they get the grind right on the 705 ?

The 305's are always consistent and I know they can definitely turn out a well made little slipjoint.

I don't have this knife out. I'm only going by my rather poor photos but the grinds appear to be better on my earlier model.

That does look like it might be ground a little better.
The biggest issue on these seems to be the coping blades.

I do not know why they would have had an issue with consistantly grinding the blades on the 705.
The 709 on up to the largest of the 700 series appear in pictures to have generally been well ground and fairly consistent.

the whole 700 series always seemed ground oddly to me. I figured they were just that way.

It's a shame too, because the frames just scream Buck when you look at them but the strange grinds detract a bit.
yep. they are built tough and I want to like them badly, but they just seem ground weird. I've passed on them for years now...cant seem to get around the visual. now they arent bad lookin per say just seem like too much blade was taken off as in sharpened too much....visually I mean. I know they haven't been, they just look that way to me.

Yes the blades look like they should be wider on some of them, the 705 in particular.
They definitely have an oversharpened look to them.

Some of the larger models in the 700 series look a little better though.
