is the 707uh with the scissors common?
you don't see many u.s. made versions anymore.
were they built like the taylor brand with the scissors
in wrong place?
and i have another question?
why do you see so many old timers with the tip broken
off?
did that many get sold as screwdrivers?lol

JD, As far as I know, they are not very common. I don't know what the production numbers were though. I can't answer your question about the scissors being in the wrong place either, because as far as I know, the right place is where they put them.
I actually have two of them, as I spotted a second one on the bay and had to have it. ;)

The are not rare, but only made from 1992 to 1994. I doubt if they sold like hotcakes, or if all that many stores carried that pattern. The are collectible for sure, and I think the scissors help that.

I would think being made for only two years, they are somewhat rare. I was trying to find one a few years ago to pair up with my 106OT. but didn't want to spend $50+ for a 2 3/4" knife.

Nice to see the Old Timer version of this knife. :)
And YES, they are somewhat hard to find. ;)

well,i took a chance on one and it should be here in a
few days i think.
I knew i hadn't seen one except in the taylor line.
So I looked online for any info on rarety to no avail.
The guy was needing cash and I was afraid it would get gone.
So I bought before I actually knew the worth.
Glad I did now, maybe I can use it to help pay for the kids
Christmas.....
WOW,Jarrod done pretty good on Storage Wars tonight.....
Two safes filled with old coins in one unit.
They said,probably around 5500.00 wirth,but I think way
more than that...They just didn't want to have to pay
taxes on that wad of coins......

Sometimes my chances pay off,and others not so well.

Thanks for the vote of RARE guys, just what I was hoping
to hear.

The 707UH was in production from 91-96
production numbers:
91 21,930
92 15,279
93 8,165
94 5,083
95 23
96 15

95 and 96 really dont count :-)

There is a 707UHE but the numbers were < 100 per year

Thanks Larry, that probably leaves at least 5000 sitting around in desk drawers somewhere. I just may find a mate for my little friend.

weren't they called the gambler's knife? i seem to recall that. course recalling is difficult at best for me.

From what I have see the 'E' designated Europe.
When they used that in the OT line the only difference was that Stainless was used instead of Carbon.
This is not the case for UH as they were already SS so I do not know what the difference would be.
It was called the gambler.

Thanks for the info Larry,
I've heard it called the gambler before, but it seems I've also heard it referred to as the "Gentleman's Knife" somewhere too. Not sure where though.

Seems i also saw a picture of a knife with that same
number, but it had equal blades at each end like
a muskrat....But it was shaped more like a lockback,or
something.
Am i dreaming??

Ah, Two distinctly different patterns then. I was confused on that issue. :o
The early 707 had no scissors at all then? More like the LB4?

If I didn't have two already, yours would be very tempting. I EDC mine, and find the scissors "very" useful. :)

that's mainly why i am gonna get rid of.
just can't bring myself to carry something that rare.lol
if i did,i'd lose it like my last good knife.
