Iv'e got my eye on this True Temper 4lber but am not really familiar with TT axes from this period. It has original handle. My best guess is it is a 70s or 80s axe?

Are these common in the US? Are these anywhere as valuable/rare as Kelly Perfect Jerseys?

It looks like it is mostly unused and the handle looks thin and curvy in all the right places.

What do you think?

The handle looks varnished.. when did Kelly/TT start doing this to their axes? Don't tell me from the beginning..

Also if you look at the haft where it first meets the head it has some strange looking carving done there? Surely from factory they wouldn't have hung the axe like this? Maybe someone hung it themselves with a replacement TT handle?

That would be my guess. Those cuts below the lugs aren't factory. Looks like a great axe. Great pattern. With no product stamp one would have to assume it's a Woodslasher but those are are still fine axes. You're lucky to find one in that condition.
