have a older 73/4 lever lock with 1 piece spring&backstrap spring has broken there is 5/8" of the spring intacted on the 1 piece spring&backstrap is it possible to fit a spring in that slot and if so what spring do you recommend thank you vic
 
No- if you stick a spring in that slot, all you will accomplish is breaking the backspring of the knife.
A separate spring would have to be fitted. There is no other way to make your knife work.
There are several other ways to totally ruin it, though.

I doubt parts are available. The backspring can be modified to take a seperate spring.
Pin stock is available at hobby stores.
Or, you can send it to me and get it done correctly.
