Big honkin' light, top-shelf camera.

(Very nice result-- thanks for the how-did, and the final-product picture.)

Great choice. What year was your knife made? I don't keep up with all the iterations, that sodbuster-type blade is one I am unfamiliar with.

Is that a cut out piece of tupperware shoved on your light as a diffuser? Thats awesome.

A minor detail.Great pic.
Could this sort of thing be done with my phone cam to improve results?

Not to jump in where the question was directed at the OP, but a light box should help any camera take better pictures, and what he created here was a fast and dirty example of one.

Christian.....

That would be the new #72 Cody Scout in Micarta not a #73 that came out with the blade style and measures 3 7/8" just a tad longer than the 3 3/4" #73 Pattern

Darn, this must be the second time I was not observant enough between the two. Sheesh.

Thanks for that, Jim.

Thanks Jim. Hard to tell the #72 and #73 frames apart unless they are side-by-side.

Nice setup... I find a smaller piece of white posterboard , or foam core in front of the tripod will bounce enough light back in to open up the shadow areas in the foreground. :)
