Fixed or folding? What normal usage do you expect? Spring assisted or not? Lock preference?

Btw no matter what you decide, if you really want to stretch your dollar (in the other thread you said money was tight), the best deals to be found are on the exchange boards here

Oh and did you ever get your pendleton lite?

Edit: NVM, I see your thread where you said you didn't like it

Two that have served me well are the Kershaw RAM for around 50$ and the Spyderco Manix 2 for around 80$. Top notch knives, both of them.

folding, normal usage includes but is not limited to food prep (small stuff for lunch when im out places) cutting plastic tape occasonal cardboard string rope shrink wrap and fresh veggies. Prefer no spring assist but it wouldnt break the deal if everything else was awsome.
i have no lock pref but lock backs usually dont have as fast of a deployment and are harder to 1 handed close witch i do alot.

If you arn't totally against a back lock. Take a look at the Endura 4. Spyderco Tenacious. I think the Benchmade Mini Grip can be found around your price range if you look around.

mini grip is def up there, and i atually had an endura 4 ffg for a little bit and had to sell it cause i needed money, i wasnt crazy over it tbh

Kershaw Junkyard Dog 2 composite. Big, tank-like, good steel, good ergos, feels good in the hand, etc. For the $69 I paid for mine it's the happiest I've been with a knife in a long time.

anything with the axis lock, though will be at the top of you budget. i have to second the manix 2. that thing is awesome, one of, if not the most comfortable knives i own. if you work in a kitchen like i do then the waved endura can NOT be beat. my only problem with it is the sabre grind can make it a pain for food prep which is why it is accompanied by the military or tenacious. the kershaw blur is a hell of a deal as well

None of the things you mentioned in your typical use are what would be defined as "hard use" so that really opens your options up. You would be surprised how durable most knives that aren't rated as "hard use" are in reality, but in that price range I'm going to have to recommend any number of Kershaw products. They've got some fantastic stuff in that range in all sizes and varieties.

Spyderco Endura 4 or Manix 2. I wouldn't recommend the Griptilian coz I tried at the knife store and really didn't like the FRN handle, I like the Bone Collector better.
