Agree with the Griptillian, hard to find under $75 though. (For me anyways)

Spyderco Delica is the best folder definately under $75 in my opinion.

A Grip is a good choice. I would suggest a model with grivory handles because it feels more solid. Also a Delica/Endura. CRKT Ripple is super duper smooth. Spyderco Manix 2 if you look around and don't mind buying used (keep an eye on the exchange here), Manix 2 Lightweight if you want a much much lighter version. Spyderco UK Penknife is also a superb option.

I could go all day. What are some specifics you want (handle materials, blade steels, preferred lock type, desired blade length along with legal restrictions where you live, and intended use)?

It's quite easy to find Griptillian's for less than $75. Be sure you're using the sellers discount coupons to see the lowest price.

Agree with the Griptilian and Manix 2 suggestions great blades at the price point

A.G. Russell Gunstock lockback

Either the Delica or the Byrd Meadowlark 2 (you can get three for your $75 and still have change)

I'd suggest a Kershaw Speed Bump. Can be found at your price point, has a flipper, decent steel, and a good overall design (if you like and can sharpen recurves).

What kind of knife are you looking for, though? A big knife? A little knife?

Without knowing more, if you're looking for a flipper in that price range how about a Kershaw Skyline, CRKT Ripple or maybe an A.G. Russell Skorpion:

Kershaw Skyline is a good flipper for under $75, and it's made in the US.

SOG's Twitch II is an amazing little edc flipper for around $45 -- Also US made If I remember correctly.

If you want to try a non-flipper, you can buy 5 or 6 vanilla Opinel folders for $75, or one really nice one. Those little knives are incredible...even if they are French.

Other than that, I'd recommend the Manix 2 Light weights if you have man hands and don't mind a knife with a few hot spots. Its action is smooth enough that it feels a lot like a flipper if you do a middle-finger flick on it instead of a thumb flick.

Obviously I have to mention the new Case "rugged duck" knife (#36301). Check out the G-10 goodness! (of course it is about $20 more...meh)

Kershaw RAM 1910 (serrated or non) custom knife at a production price $74 -$85 shipped. Smoothest flipper I've handled with a unique locking mechanism.

These are the ones in my main EDC rotation. The base model of any of these can be found for under $75...

Left to right: Kershaw Blur, Skyline, Leek, Spyderco Delica, Benchmade Mini-Griptilian, Victorinox Super Tinker

The RAT-1 is also a good and pretty budget-friendly knife.

Forget about the griptilian ... I'd suggest the Delica ... or a skyline.. the skyline is around $21 and it's amazing for the price... alot smoother then the delica for sure... although an FFG delica can slice like a mother.... so really it just depends what your looking for.. ;)

Or.. go traditional... get a case trapper or something of the sort... slipjoints are nice.. and you can get a real nice one for $40-$50 ;)...
