what can you guys tell me about the bm 750?
it looks pretty, and resembles a sebbie in its materials/design. any opinions? (and don't say "go get a sebbie instead." that's not in my budget right now.) thanks a lot.
peace.

The only good frame lock in the <$100.00 range. Nice knife for the money.

Well, maybe the only good titanium frame lock for less than $100. The EDC is well under that price point.

The 750 is a nice knife for the price. I am thinking of getting another in the near future for EDC.

A VERY good knife, not as good as the Sebi, but 1/3 the price and functionally 85% as good. The CRK&T S2 is very underated, but IMHO not as good as this knife.

There are two big problems with this knife, I had to view seven examples before I found a 'perfect' one and Benchmade showing wisdom beyond wisdom have scrapped the design:rolleyes: , buy one FAST!

The 750 is frequently refered to as the "poor man's Sebenza".

It's going out of production, so jump in quickly.

I had one. Nice knife, but a little big for my EDC.

I bought a small Sebenza and gave away the 750. If BM made a small Pinnacle I'd have bought it instead of the Sebenza.

Try the torque test on your EDC lock.

With the knife open secure the blade by padding and clamping it into a vice, or secure it some other way so that it won't move. You then grip the knife handle and try twisting or torquing it to see if the lock bar moves.

I handled a friend's 750 that had considerable blade play.
I've heard others complain about the same thing.

and they didn't try tightening the pivot screw, or sending them to benchmade for service?

Thanks StJames.

Komondor your freind should send his 750 to Benchmade. Their customer service is great. I sent in two knives to be looked at. One was a small Ascent that wouldn't lock up securley. I have had that knife for almost three years and used it hard but I did not abuse it. The other knife was a large M2 AFCK, the liner lock had moved all the way over and was resting against the washer. Benchmade gave me two brand new knives. I wish Ford had that kind of customer survice:)

Last time I was at the knife shop I handled 1. Thought about buying it but decided I probably wouldn't carry it much because of its size and weight. I loved the lock tho. I ended up with a 940 -- not too big, not too small.

I thought the same things before I got mine. Had it one day and returned it. Dull, off center blade and sloppy, sloppy blade play. It's one of those great designs that Benchmade has that they refuse to spend the time and money on getting the execution right.
