Hi guys has anyone had blade play on there 755 . My knife is basically new . I never used it . Last time I opened it was about a month ago when I put it up for trade and the knife was rock solid . Put it away and took it out yesterday just to see if I wanted to edc it and bang rock lock big time .

I went on the Tube and saw one guy say if I move the stop pin it will fix the issue . Has anyone done this to there 755 and has it fix the problem . I don't have the hex set (left it in my pocket and got washed away) I will get one soon .

I contacted benchmade by email . I asked if the knife is covered by the warranty no answer yet but I did yesterday late so it might take a few days before they answer .

Any suggestion will be appreciated.

Thanks

Call their toll free number.

Lock rock doesn't just randomly appear while a knife is sitting in a drawer/safe or direct sunlight.

Beyond that, they'll probably ask for you to send it in, they'll look at it and probably be able to fix it and get it back to you within a few weeks.

I will do so when time allows me . But in the mean time ill like to know if any one has tried the moving the pin .

That trick has been around and been done on all types of both liner and integral locks. It can and does work when the problem is related to the stop pin. In some cases, a larger diameter stop pin is the answer, or replacing the locking side.

Definitely worth a try....it may or may not work. Mine had lock rock and rotating the stop pin did not work. I sent it in to Benchmade and they replaced the entire ti lock side and stop pin. Now its solid but I am wary of the lock geometry. It is reminiscent of the old Strider geometry where only one small corner of the lock bar makes contact with the blade tang. Time will tell whether it holds up and I sure hope it does as I really like the knife.

I had a bit of blade play on my 755, but after I rotated the hexagonal blade stop, the rocking stoped.

I just got the hex set . Ill try moving the stop pin tomorrow . Hopefully it works . By the way benchmade has not return my email . 2 days now . I guess if this does not work ill have to call .

I rotated the lock pin and my 755 is rock solid . No play what's so ever now hopefully it stay this way. I want to edc this knife but every time I go for it I stop just because the blade is black and don't want to ruin it . I use to have the satin one that I abuse but not sure i want to do it to this one . Time will tell if it stays rock solid . No benchmade never return my email .

Thanks to all for your input .

If it was a cheap Chinese knife no but this one matters . Like I said before I thought about trieding it but nothing came up now I just want to keep it ready for when am ready . I'm also having a hard time not edc the native 5 and my mini grip . I usually take two knives to edc a month . The mini grip has been there for the last 1year so I'm really exchanging one knife .

Glad things worked out for you. I find the more scratches I get on my 755, it makes it adds more character.
