Greetings all: I just picked up a knife and I'm trying to find out a little more to see if what I was told is correct. It's a Schrade 75th Anniversary 1979 big Clasp Knife. Same pattern type as the Case Bulldog. Measures 5.5" closed. Has the gold etched blade with the Schrade factory pictured on it. The handles are imitation Abolone Shell and are quite attractive. The guy I bought it from said it was purchased at the Schrade bankruptcy auction and that is was a prototype because they never offered the 75th Anniversary knife with the abolone handles. I've seen a number of them with imitation stag but not what I have. Does anyone know about these knives??
Regards, FB in VT.:)

Abolone? I gotta see it. Any chance you could post a pict or send me one and I'll post it for you?
There are 2 75th anniv clasps that Ive seen and have one of each. The bone and delrin versions. I remember seeing a drawing on the 75th that was pre-production. Love to see the knife.
There is a 7OT version but thats not what were talking about.
Thanks
Larry

Its a little known fact that there is a tunnel from somewhere in New Hampshire to Ellenville NY. Every time Schrade had a new product line, Larry would sneak into the factory and snag a couple of samples. How else could you explain all these gorgeous knives he keeps coming up with.;)

Here's one of the pictures, seems like a complete rehandle job, original had the scrolled bolsters.

Fb decided to sell the knife and not wanting to abuse the rules of the board asked that I not post the picture. You all are too fast at finding these things on the e-bay.
Very different than the 75ths. Don't think it was a proto for the 75ths but something one of the knife makers did for themselves and having one of the blades available look what they did.

happened to read the post about the knife this morning, then checked e-bays newly listed items, and there was, what seemed to be the knife as described, just seemed to be uncanny seeing it, moments after reading the post.

Larry, Cougar Allen, or anyone else in authority- should I remove the photo in post #7?

PS Larry, Nice stag 75th! That is in my opinion one of the finest looking knives to come out of Schrade, and right now one of the most expensive! Love that certificate as well!

Eric,
No, its not yours and your simply showing it. Something we have done many times in the past.
It is an interesting piece.

P.S. I have no authority just my opinion.

There almost seems to be a never ending supply of 75th Schrade Clasp knives on ebay. Seem to go for prices between $110 to $150. Id only want to pay around $100 unless I found a stag handled Clasp, but thats just me.

Nice Schrade above thanks for posting.

G'Day, A bit off theme but the 13 Colonies Schrade clasp with stag scales is equal to the best Schrade produced IMHO. Ebay #290156844462.

13 Colonies centerpiece, Custers Last Stand, Trail of Tears, NKCA Museum Set clasp, and 75th Ann stag are all beautiful stag pieces. Unfortunately a lot of other folks think so as well, kind of expensive to try to collect one of each:(:D

Here's the museum piece:
