Hey everybody, I am interested in information about the 75th clasp knife. I would like to know how many were made and approx. the amount of money I would need to spend to purchase one.
Many thanks

There were two versions of the 75th Anniversary knife.
One had Staglon handles and can readily identified by the oval plate in the handles. This is the one most often seen and can usually be had for less than $200-$250 or so.
The other has Stag Handles with Sterling Silver Bolsters and can be readily identified by the longer rectangular plate on the handle. This is rarely seen offered for sale and can seldom be had for less than $400 or so.

Thanks for the information. I have noticed a wealth of information in this forum and people are very helpful to one another.

And back to the new guys' question... Just how many of each were made? Neither of my usual references gives a number.

DVM, careful shopping and waiting for just the right one can pay off. I did that, found a knife only (no paperwork-no box-but I am happy) for $80. But really, Del is right about what they usually go for.

Once again thanks for the info. 200 to 250 is too rich for my blood (even though I am sure that knife is worth it). I will try to wait for a good deal. I have heard the saying "you get what you pay for", any advise to watch out for when looking at a knife on ebay? Such as fakes or cracks in a knife etc... Once again thanks for the help

DVM,

I'll put one up tonight (check out delander on ebay after 6:00 PM PST) and if you really want it, we can work out a lay-a-way.

email me if you're interested and for some more info on the knife I'll put up (delah@telus.net).

Del

I will definitely be looking for it! If it doesn't go to high I might just become the proud new owner. Thanks delander
