Hi everybody question is the 75th anniversary clasp with large medallion real stag or stagalon thanks for any replies

To the best of my knowledge, all the Schrade commemorative Clasp knives were stag, and definitely that one. I personally don't recall any clasp knives with staglon, but there are quite a few here who may correct me on that.

There were two versions: A staglon handled knife with a large oval sterling silver shield and deep etched blade, and a stag handled knife with a narrow shield. sterling silver engraved bolsters, and gold embossed etch on the blade.

Thanks guys for the help mine has the large oval shield looked like stagalon to me but wasn't sure thanks again

Top is stag bottom staglon.
The presentation boxes were also different. The staglon was plastic Most of the hinges broke on these over time) and the stag was wood. Of course the prices were worlds apart.

One was called the $100 knife and the other the $1,000 knife. Any idea if the $1,000 knife really sold for $1,000 or is worth $1,000 today?
