So I don't have the knife yet and I am so excited for this score, or what I feel it a score. It's a little beat up and the blade looks like someone took a belt sander to it and didn't have a clue. I could care less about the first production, thought it's my first like this and it makes the deal that much better, but I got this for $61. It was put on a buy it now for 30 days and I noticed it at 2 a.m. and had only been up for two hours so I jumped on it. The pictures are from the seller so they are pretty bad. I actually thought it was a counterfeit at first, especially with it being a first production, then I noticed the scratched up blade and the fact the clip screws had been changed out, he mentioned that in the ebay ad as well. I know I will be happy with this even with all the "issues". As soon as I get it I will get some better pictures up. Titanium handle, S30V steel, nitrous assist lock all for under 75 bucks!

Nice. :thumbup:Even though it looks like it's been through hell and back again for $61 that's a fine deal in my book. Will make a good user. I'd send it into Benchmade as soon as you get it they"ll get it running again.I had one for awhile. Bought used, lock up was terrible and very bad blade alingment but BM fixed that right up. Congrats on the knife and deal.

Good Lord what a mess! I do not know if BM can actually do anything with it as it is out of production besides put in proper screws and attempt to rectify blade play then sharpen it. You are most likely out of luck when it comes to a replacement blade, replacement pivot screw possibly washers...

Got my knife today, gotta charge my good camera's battery. The scratches are just the finish the blade itself is sharp, it really looks like they just took it to a belt sander to get it sharpened and sliped a couple times on the finish. The assist mechanism is more than I expected, never had an assist knife, and the lock is rock solid. It had the bag too, not that that's a big issue, but this knife is in great shape minus the scratches and I am very happy with it, it will become my new EDC replacing my Griptillian. The screws in the clip and in there rock solid and the clip is in great condition they just stick out a little. At the end of the day 61 bucks for a knife I'm going to carry is a steal.

That's great the lock up is good and the spring is working well. You got a good deal for sure.

Here are my pictures at a decent angle showing the scratches, which are the only issue with this knife and as a EDC a non-issue:

Haha. I had this in my cart but the scratches and extreme sharpening turned me away.

For $61 that is a great score. A little time spent with some sand paper, and you could make the blade look substantially better. Or just stick it in your pocket and enjoy it :D

After a few days of this and a good sharpening job I am more than happy, the blade was perfectly centered, no play what so ever. I'm not big on the Ti Lock but it appears to be working just fine. It has replaced my Griptillian as my EDC. I like it more mainly because it is slimmer than the grip and fits better in my pocket. The action on this thing is almost as snappy as my 9050 and I am so loving it. As far as replacing the blade I don't care so much about looks, and even though I could care less that it's a "first production" I like the idea that it is all original and working great as is so I will keep it the way it is right now. I did a little buffing on the blade itself with some lapping film to see what it would do and I started "blending" some of the satin and scratches, but I think if I sanded I'd be taking the satin finish off and I'd ether get the scratches out and have a two toned knife with satin on the top and plain blade on the bottom, I'd rather just deal with the scratches. All and all I could not be happier for a $61 knife.

Yeah, that's a good point. It would be very difficult to make it look nice with all the extra writing on the blade. Look at it this way, it is already scratched and has character :D
