The first time I removed the clip (after unscrewing it) it took a reasonable amount of force to separate it. I was wondering if it was normal for there to be tension when putting the pocket clip screw back in. At first I thought I stripped it but then realized that it's just a tight fit and you have to get it flat for it to work properly. Is this normal?

On all me Sebs (9 and counting) the clip screw unscrews smoothly and falls right out when completely unscrewed. I do, however, have two Sebs (both small 21's) on which the clip "sticks" in the recess that holds the clip. On one of them, the clip is wedged in so tightly that I have not been able to remove it (for fear of bending it out of shape).

I don't know if that helps, but that's my experience.

yeah, that's exactly how mine was. it gave it a good pull and it popped out but I was sweating bullets while doing so.

The first time I took the clip off my 21 it was a pain in the butt to get off. Gotta love those tight tolerances!
Now that I've had it off a few times it's not an issue anymore.

Lol yep I had to use loctite under the clip or it would wiggle back and forth even when the screw was tight. I sometimes wish they used 2 screws for the clip, but oh well. Good knife either way

Why not just send it in to Chris? He'll make it right for you.

it's worth a mention. i'm just relieved that it's a common occurrence and not a defective product..
