So, I realized I got too many knives and want to give one away... HAHAHAHA!!!! Actually I do want to give one a way, but not because I have too many.

The people that have met me (either virtually or in person) know I'm a food guy. I love food. Actually you don't even have to have met me to know that. Anyway, I'm giving away a brand new Becker 14. It isn't "in the box" cause the box is gone, not sure where it is. If I find it, I'll include it.

The give-a-way though, make a meal. Your favorite, your "go to", your signature dish, whatever and post pictures. Make it something tantalizing though! Make it something that everyone else would want to eat!

Open to anyone and everyone on Bladeforums with a Gold or higher membership. If you live outside the US, you pay shipping and you get the knife.

Everyone knows the knife in question, but if not here's a stock photo.

So lets go, make some food and win some steel!

I'm in! Thanks for the opportunity.

I don't have a truly signature dish, because I like to experiment. But pizza is one of my standards. Actually, my wife so prefers my pizza to the pizza that was available in our old town that she never wanted to buy pizza. Fortunately for my occasional laziness, there is a pizza place here in Corvallis that my wife is okay with, so I don't have to make all the pizza.

I took some photos recently of me making pizza using only my favorite knife, my Lone Wolf T2. So without further ado:

I just thought I would bump this because I'm surprised no one else has entered, and if no one else enters then I would win a giveaway, and if I win a giveaway it might tear a hole in the space time continuum, and I don't want to be responsible for that ;)

I'm in... or I'm gonna be. Rules say I gotta cook something. That usually happens on the weekend. So I'll save this spot for my entry. Not that I've ever seen a post less than 10 win anything. :D

I'm going to let this go till July 12th. Give everyone a chance to get in on it that want to!

ZZyzz, this isn't going to be a random number generator or anything like that. It's quite literally going to be scrolling through which picture makes me drool. So, any post could win!

Abby Daddy, that was a hell of an opening salvo! Looks YUMMY!

I'm in! Thanks for the great GAW C-bear.

Not recent, but this is a signature dish in my house when the leaves start to turn. Pumpkin soup served in the shell. Little sugar pumpkins & the most of the rest of the ingredients came from the farmer's market. Made entirely with the KA-BAR BK&T BK15....and a Braun (keeping with the German theme) immersion blender.

Set these aside; seasoned and roasted them for topping and snacking:

Sprinkled a little bacon in there, too.....but that disappeared before I could get pics.

This is a fun thread. Thanks for the chance, Cbear! I had the opportunity to make something a bit different so I opted to grab my phone and take a few pictures along the way. My wife and I will be entertaining a few guests for an early dinner tomorrow so we decided to make some ice cream this afternoon for the desert.

It is Strawberry Basil ice cream:
14-oz. can sweetened condensed milk
5-oz. evaporated milk
1 1/2 cups whole milk
2 tablespoons sugar
1/8 teaspoon table salt
16-oz. container fresh strawberries, coarsely chopped
2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice (substituted lime juice here)

Here we have the milk, milk & sugar whisked in a mixing bowl. This is chilled and the fruit and other ingredients will be added later.

Rolled, cut and juiced the lime

The strawberries are de-stemmed, cut in halves and eventually added in with the lime juice and basil.

The upswept tip of the BK15 was awesome for this small task.

It was also hard not to just eat them.

Diced up the basil and added it to the lime juice.

Everything in the food processor bowl now.
IMG_20150627_145306801_zpszbmvznrb.jpg

It needed maybe 5 pulses to mix everything up and to chop the strawberries down a bit finer.

We combined the milk mixture and fruit mixture in the ice cream maker bowl and let it have at it for a while.

It is starting to set up. We could hear the ice cream maker start to labor more.

Here it is in a 2qt container after chilling in the freezer for a few hours.

I was skeptical about the strawberry and basil. We even had a backup recipe and trip to store planned to make another batch of ice cream if it did not pan out. my skepticism was quickly laid to rest when I popped that spoon in my mouth.... It was good. The savory and spice of the basil balances to the sweet strawberries and sugar quite well. I want to try it with the addition of some blueberries next.

I will have to edit in with a picture of a scooped bowl of ice cream tomorrow to show the finished results. We just stole a few bites and an eventual scoop this evening, but nothing near picture worthy as we lost the light this evening.

Yesterday we did the annual BBQ for my son's Birthdays because I'll be working on their actual Birthdays this week (June 30th & July 1). As I was getting ready I remembered this thread and thought, lets add to the tastiness!

Lets start with meat.
WP_002690_zpsiiqt1zt9.jpg

The 15 split the ribs like nothing.
WP_002691_zpsheqifrkd.jpg

Then made short work of tomatoes and pickles
WP_002692_zpsdcncv2k3.jpg

All cooked and pre-sauce'd and ready for the bbq.

On the BBQ!
WP_002694_zpsyyfs0aji.jpg

The epic bounty of meat. Ribs, 10oz medium ground beef burgers, 8oz prime rib burgers, 6oz lean patties, and all beef hot dogs for the kids.
WP_002697_zps8sls3xb6.jpg

I then needed a tooth pick to get all that awesomeness out of my teeth. Dried hard maple

I then woke up this morning and started looking through the fridge for what I could have for breakfast. The 15 was still in my kitchen so I decided to let her loose again. Breakfast steak and egg wraps with cheese and home made chipotle mayo.

My 11 decided to make an appearance while scrambling the eggs

I stabbed the block of cheese for a photo op

Got the mayo down on my tortillas

Shaved up the steak

Thanks for the chance on this delicious GAW!

Bump this up.

Man TBL, that is some good looking meat!

Jerry, love the ice cream! It's been a while since I had some, even longer than I made some. Might need to get on that.

Granite, definitely needs more bacon!

Zep, sometimes simple is good!

Steak. On a stick.

Ingredients used:

- USDA Prime Filet Mignon
- Johnny's Seasoning Salt
- Montreal Steak Seasoning
- Stick
- Fire

Alright, just got back from camp and I'm going to call this one. After much deliberation (I showed the options to a friend as well and we discussed...) The winner is:

Abbydaddy!

That pepperoni pizza just looked TOO good! I am tempted to deliver the knife in person so I can taste that pizza!
I'm going to send you a PM to get your address!

Thanks everyone for playing! (And for getting me my Ka-Bar Krew number! muahahahaha!)

Congrats Abbydaddy! And if your username is "Abbydaddy" because your daughter's name is Abigail, we have something in common. That's my 3 year old's name.
