This was a new knife design for me. My take on the traditional "Carving Knife". 8" blade made from 0.072" 15n20 high carbon nickel steel, hardened and tempered to 63HRC. Even tho it was only profiled, the blade kept taking a curve during the normalizing and thermal cycling. In order to correct that, I plate quenched it on the last thermal cycle. For the hardening procedure, it received a Parks 50 oil dunk, then into quench plates. That fixed the issue, and ended up straighter than an arrow thrown by a left handed Indian. Blade was hand rubbed to 1200 grit, and the handle is made from mesquite with a black G10 bolster. 325 mesh edge, 25° inclusive. Thin, hard, and aggressive. Thanks for looking!

Love that mesquite. The black bolster contrasts really well. Nice!!
