8" electric knife sharpener

Has anyone used the $29 electric knife sharpener from Lowes that uses an 8" 100 grit stone (i think it is twice as wide as a regular grinder stone)than runs thru a water trough? could this also be used to do hollow ground blades? it has a bunch of notches in a plastic holder type thing to set the spine of the blade into.

I've never seen any of those things do anything other than ruin blades.

Although, I do have an electric can opener somewhere, with the knife sharpener slots in it, and those little stone wheels set at an angle, that run at 10,000RPM....................Cheap!!!!!!!!

I bought one last year. IT'S JUNK! I took it back.
