Man.....I think about this every day. My first blood child, here in 2 months!
I have already been thinking about the best way to teach her about the do's and donts in the shop, making a small baby/child interance area so she cant sneak up and get into anything untill I get her IN the shop. She can cut at the bandsaw when she is 6, sand wood when she is 4, draw knives when she is 2........hell, my luck she is a damn ballerina...but a damn good one I bet  :D

Your gonna make a great Daddy Brian. If she decides to do ballet instead......Will you be able to teach her that too ? :-)

Do you have a name thought up yet ?

Shane

 :D
but wait untill she gets to be around 15 and you become a total moron
with no brain cells at all.
she'll tell you that too, in her own way :) .. then you'll get smarter when she's about 24 or so.. :(

Congratulations blgoode , A child is truly a Blessing !!! I have a "Little Girl" Cassandra Ellen (Cassie) 12 . I have such an awesome relationship with mine bl,I can't even begin to tell you the Great Times that are to come for you.My family is the only thing I get more excited about than knifemaking.I don't know you personely , but from the way you conduct yourself here I can tell that you'll both be lucky for having each other-in other words you'll make a great Daddy. There is no finer word to hear from your little one !! Man----I'm ramblin !

Turn her into a Daddies girl quickly, that what I did and it will make the teenage years easier on you. Start studying yoga, you will not be as sore when she wraps you around her little finger.
Congrats again.

Only 8 weeks till little Marketta is born :D

Wow, time flies.!!

Get all the sleep you can now. Go ask your doctor for some valium when the chollic (sp)starts

Congratulations,Brian. You are a lucky man and nothing but the best for your soon to arrive little ballerina. :)

Hell.I'll put on some pointer shoes and ballet around! No TuTu though.
HEr name will be Casey Lynn Goode....

She has alot of Uncles on this forum! I hope to take her to TrackRock HAmmerin when she is about 2 :)

Uncle MArk..........HElp me change Crappy Diapers...I'll need it :)

You'll have crap up to your elbows and eat a ham sandwich at the same time before you know it. :D

Congrats buddy! :D

I don't have any of my own, but I've helped raise several dozen, as my mom has owned/operated a day-care since I was 8...

Lots of work, but lots of fun... It's gotta be that much better to be your very own flesh and blood. But then again, those little bastards at my mom's are only there from about 6 am to 6-7 pm... :D

One thing is for sure... Brian will NOT be teaching her how to S-P-E-L-L!!!

At least I hope not! :p :D

I loved my daughter, Fiona, when she was a wee lass! Back then I worked nights and Linda worked for GTE in Tampa on days. I'd dress up Fiona and we'd go for a "buggy ride" (my vw bug), and we'd get some mcnuggets or go play at the beach. *sigh* Now she's 26 and got a family of her own.

Time flies.

I wish you all the best, Brian. I envy you, too. There's no greater joy on Earth than to be a part of your children's life and to watch them grow up. :)

Ha HA..I aint no speller..thats for sure!!

HIGGY HAS A 26 YR. OLD ??? I never would have guessed that--not in a million yrs. How old is that sig. pic of yours Higgy ??

Brian, I look back to when my daugher was little. She liked being in the shop but as soon as a turned a tool on she'd haul ass. Back then I was a carpenter and did alot of side projects in the basement. Maybe best to get your little one some type of ear protection when the time comes so the noise doesn't run her off. They sure grow up fast, thats for sure. Enjoy your daughter no matter what her interests are!

Mark Williams , are you & yours expecting a bundle too ?? Congrats goes out to you too if I understood your post correctly ( re; Marketta )

Ray - already thought of ear protection :) AND glasses! Gloves......for the hot work :)
