$80 for a new passaround? - need opinions

I attempted to raise money for a permanent passaround sebenza, and I sold $80 of my own stuff, one person expressed some interest in helping out. (This is completely separate from the passaround + raffle sebenza)

So I/we have some options:

Continue to try and get support for a permanent sebenza passaround.

Spend it on a new passaround that's about $80. (Or if someone wants to add to it that would be great, persoanlly I'd like to try a BM switchback )

Wait until the Lum Chinese comes back from canada in probably another 2 months, sell the Lum and add that money in.

Buy an additional 2 entries in the CRK Green Beret passaround. Though that's risky as I/we might not win. (And if I like it I might wanna keep it. :p )

For the record if I win the passaround sebenza + raffle, that would become the permanent sebenza passaround.

Other ideas?
 
Dave have you asked CRK if they would help out on the Sebanza? maybe knock the price down closer to what can be raised? or donate one? I'd start there myself and use the $80 for another PA. Being a Police Officer and spending 14 years having to beg for donations and stuff I'm pretty good at :rolleyes: if you need help asking.
 
I'm not that good at begging, but I'm better at making a proposal and seeing if I can enlist their help in someway. :)

I recognize that it's a smaller company so one sebenza to CRK is probably a much more significant then something from a larger company. I don't think it's fair to pressure anyone.

That being said, I made a new post in the CRK forum, hoping some sebanista's (spelling ?) will take up the cause. I rather just purchase it outright, that way there are no strings attached and if it get's lost or damaged, well that's the breaks and we're not beholding to anyone.

All that being said I want to give this a few days then go from there.

My offer still stands. If I win the passaround Sebenza back, it will become the permanent passaround sebenza.

But, for now, I think you should put the $80 towards the Green beret. ;)
 
I say you take the money and buy YOURSELF a nice knife. If enough people want to try out a Sebenza then they can do what we did. :) It is a really nice thought to try to get a permenant one going for the forum, but if there isn't enough intrests that people volenteer to donate $5 here or $8 there. Why stress yourself out about it?? You have to have some knife you have been wanting for awhile, buy yourself it. And if after a few months you feel like it ,throw up a sign up for it to be a passaround :)
