Dear Group,
just a quick note about what I thought was an original ww2 Khuk. It turns out it's actually ww1 (about 16 inches and lighter than an AK), and was used for about 20 years after the war for chopping wood, then was given to the sister of the old man who picked it up in ww1, left to rust for about 20 years more, then the grandson got hold of it for a few more years, before selling it to me in a sorry state. I gave it a good seeing to with wire wool and polish and now it's in damn good condition except for a bit of deep pitting. The handle is nicely aged and uncracked, and it is rattle free and perfectly tough. I have no doubt it'll carry on for another 80 years.
You can't say that for many knives.
Jeff.
