804 Knock Off

You know what I think about them thawk!! I was mulling over the idea last week just to see what they are really like for a hoot. as mighty fine as they are, I forgot they were up for auction, Saw your post and tried to capture one, got pipped to the post for $21.99. I had fun for a moment!!

"Interesting marketing Technique"....and....brilliant!, you promote the product< for the want of a better word> in advance of production and some hapless person actually buys it as a non- user because "you can't use it'.. but buys it as a ""collector piece prototype"" as well...let me get this right from his spiel...the prototype is made to the proposed specifications.. to test the quality and appearance of the proposed finished product...but... its not actually made with the same steel as the proposed finished product.. and its O.K. if the sloppy workmanship produces double tang marks etc..because we all know 'she'll be right on the day of production'..and the prototype of that model may never make it to production anyway <we should be so lucky>.and then you end up with not quite a prototype of the model that never got made?...gee whillickers and shizzaam...how rare and desirable is that Chinese Collectable going to be???...they might start their own Schrade Collectors Club where they could discuss the collecting merits of Chinese prototypes and new editions oops.. ..<that's right they have.. I forgot>...simply brilliant....!.<that they get away with it>.......Hoo Roo

yep they are getting sneaking, i was looking at a 1250T with staglon handles and asked the seller what markings were on the tang since i could not see them. he answered not via ebay mail which would put it out there for the buying public to see but directly to me. His answer was that it was a china blade and only had Schrade on the tang, which was why i was asking the question since his photo didn't so the tank clearly.
 
Since I found this site and being a knife dummy if the picture is fuzzy with todays cameras I figure beware and head for another auction my only problem now is finding some of these deals I see on here Ha!
