The 808 "Open Stock" knife is first seen listed in the early 1950s with stagged handles, and referenced to an old number "8", so it predates the 1950s. Like the 805, the 808 is a 2 3/4" serpentine stockman pattern with a featured clip point blade, a sheepfoot, and a pen blade. The listing in 1953 says they have milled backs, which a 1950 advertisement does not mention. It is shown with the plain federal style shield, and has brass linings, nickle silver bolsters. An 808Y version was listed for a time in the early to mid sixties, having yellow plastic handles. This variant was last illustrated in 1977. The 808 was last listed in 1989, and was one of the last traditional open stock knives.
