Neat little knife, that smooth black finish is sweet.
 
Great looking little buck knife. I really like bucks knives for EDC,:never been let down by a buck knife even the cheep ones stand up to hard use thumbup:

Lots of comments on those nice slabs, but nobody said what they are made from.

And I don't know. Are they phenolic?

If memory serves me correctly, (and at this point in life it doesn't always) the original 826 was a 525 stainless (as this knife is) but the resin overlay was clear and set into the stainless on one side was a coin commemerating the Statue of Liberty renovation. The oppostie side of the knife had a gold banner to that effect. The model 825 was the pewter handled Statue of Liberty knife we made, with the same coin at the same time. These were the first two projects I worked on as a Manufacturing/Project Engineer for Buck.
