I got these recently. an 840 and 841. no ones talked much about them. so decided to post a bit on them.....

so the 420hc 840 version. has stamped logo, zytel or frn type scales, nested steel liners, bearings, and a host of other niceties. the upgraded s30v 841 version has the laser etching I'll call it. also the same things as the 840 but micarta scales with nested steel liners and jimping/filework. both knives has nicely polished liners. .....

if ya look at the pic you'll see the pocket clip screws in the back spacer mirrored off the side of the liner. the blurryness is just me trying to hold still phone and knife in hand up closer and get the pic.
back spacers are colored. on my grey blue as ya can see. on the 841 brown its gold....
the jimping/filework, for a lack of a better terms for it, on the 841 ....is unique......
Makael pointed this out to me early on....the pocket clip bends.....he bent his down...I've left mine alone. they stick up a bit but not enough to bug me.

threw in the bcci damascus vantage large, for ref.
size wise of these. when I first saw the specs i thought way too small....still think a tad small but here it is with large vantage for ref and a 110 for ref.....

so not bad for as tiny as the spces show.
both of mine flip easily. good solid detents too but no hinderance on flipping. solid lock ups. no blade play at all on the 841. 840 just a very very slight bit on side to side but I haven't tried tightening the pivot yet. not enough to make me try to.
these are great bargains for modern features and price points. wish we had an xl version though. 3.5" to 4" range blade but they carry well cut well and open and close fast. buck has done well to compete in this market of modern folders.
and for @TAH .....
