882 Question

I just bought a new 882 SBTG and it arrived here yesterday and I’m really surprised by how stiff the action is on this knife. I made sure that the Torx bolt for the blade was tightened and then backed off a bit and then I used some a drop of Tuf-Glide on both washers and just kept working the blade back and forth. For the price of this knife I guess that I was expecting it to open and close as easy as my Folding Alpha Hunter but it’s not even close. I don’t know if it would be worth the trouble to open up the knife and flip the washers over to see if the other sides work any smoother or not. Is it normal for a new 882 SBTG to be super stiff? The liner lock is extremely stiff as well but I look at that as a good thing because it hits before the middle of the blade and I like that it doesn’t move easy.
Any thoughts or suggestions?

Thank you.

I don't have an 882 but repeatedly opening and closing the blade should break it in. I assume it opens smoothly with no grit or grinding?

That knife should have opened and closed smoothly out of the box, your shouldnt have to monkey with it at all. I am wondering if maybe something is in between the blade/washers. Could be just about anything. If you feel comfortable taking it apart and cleaning the components, I would recomend that. Of course if you dont want to bother, or if it does not work, we will certainly do whatever we need to make it right. Sorry you have to do any of this in the first place.
