I was just in a hardware store and Picked up there last Schrade. It was an 885uh king ranch which I had never even seen in any store before. Any way on one of the uncle henry model sheets it says they were called king ranch from 1973 (its first year) till 2002. And then it changed to Senior ranch. The one I bought came new in the box with papers and all. The box, one of the blue schrade boxes which I thought was possibly the last style used, is labled king ranch on the box not a sticker but printed on the box. was this the same box schrade used till the end or did they possibly use the same box and just called the knife a different name. I guess my question is was there another box style after this one and is the senior ranch any different from the king ranch? if so I would have to believe the senior ranch had a higher value seeing as how it was only made for 2 years. just wondering?

Ok that helps a lot I will have to remember that page. By the way I cant believe I keep finding these things in stores too. But Im glad I only gave $30 bucks for it. it seemed like a deal to me. -joel

yea, a great deal!!!! that is a beautiful knife. the UH line is my favorite, i love the staglon handles. the 885 is just a all-around wonderful knife, they are beautiful, plus they also function great! just like the perfect woman, if she is pretty and cooks good.

I paid $41.00 for one yesterday. They had a blue box which I bought and a black/gray box also. Maybe I need to stop for the other one also... :)

I recently found a newer version of this the "senior ranch" it was in the last verson of the schrade boxes and the box had a sticker on the end that said senior ranch so I dont know if it may have said king ranch under it but there is from what I can tell no difference between the two knives just a name change.
