I just scored an old school BlueStar in a trade on the forums. I just love the older liner lock Benchmades.
This one has become my #2 EDC behind my 814 Mini AFCK and bumping my 551 griptilian to my 3rd favorite carry. What old school Benchmades does everyone else still carry?

I really love the older liner lock Benchmades myself. I do tend to "retire" my knives after a while and replace them with newer models so unfortunately for this post I can't really say I regularly carry any of the older ones anymore.

In the past however my first gen AFCK got many years of pocket time followed by the 910 Stryker. Now I try and "collect" and I use the term loosely more in the hobby sense the older, vintage Benchmade liner locks.

I recently obtained an 875 sentinel in fairly decent shape and absolutely love it. Hoping to maybe get a Dark Star next. I think many of the BM knives from that time were their best. They just feel right in hand and love the way the look too.

Congratulations on picking up the 886, another fantastic knife from the past.

I had a 905 Mini Stryker a few yrs ago but sold it. Now I'm wishing I would have kept it. I do have the mini Stryker
auto with the spear point 9530, but there is just something about having the tanto point on that model that I like. I'm currently trying to get one (9500) off of the For Sale section of the forums but if that falls thru then I'll try the Cutlery Shoppe.

The Tanto design on the Stryker series was definitely ahead of it's time. Extremely well thought out and executed. Even after all these years I still marvel at it's beauty and function. They have tweaked it slightly from generation to generation but another example of when you make it right the first time not a whole lot of room or need for improvement. Even today it remains a stand out. At least I think so.

Good luck on your quest for the 9500!

I regularly carry a number of oldies including; yeah my 910, 812, 710 (ATS-34), and a number of older Ascents.

I'd love to have a 710 in ATS-34. There really is something special about the older model BM's. Ok, Now you've gone and done it! I've taken out the old AFCK in ATS-34 and haven't put it back yet.

Looks like it may just see some more pocket time again after all these years....
