Hey all,

I have a Buck/Strider Solution on order right now. I was just curious if any of you own one, and if you have found a convenient and concelaed way to EDC one. There are no laws against me carrying it around up here, but I don't exactly want to broadcast to the sheeple that I have a large fixed blade on my person.

Thanks,

Stu

Greetings Stu. yes I have a Buck/Strider Soulution,. I love that knife, but as far as carrying it as EDC, the sheath it comes with is very useful, if your in a tatical or survival situation. The other option is to get or make a Kydex sheath for it. I have one for mine with a large tek-lok. It alows the blade to be carried verticle or horizontal. under a jacket . But it is a beefy and hefty blade. so it does have some weight to it.

After handling the 888, I think its too long and heavy to carry. Check out the BM Nimravius cub which is discontinued but still available at stores.

There are quite a few LE types that carry the 888 concealed. Strider makes a Kydex sheath for it that can be mounted in just about any fashion. Very popular with the Secret Service. That knife is also carried by one of our local SRT teams.

For SWAT/ military apps. the knife in the Kydex sheath was designed by Strider to mount on the front of the Safariland 6004 holster.

Its a good, stout little blade that won't break if you put it to hard use.

The Solution is a very good knife. Sharp, comfortable to use, and built like an old T72 tank. There's no way you will be disappointed with it, but definately way too heavy and big for an EDC. Maybe you'd better off with a Buck Strider folder, or a smaller fixed blade.

I already have a Buck 882 SBTG. Odds are the Solution will not become my EDC, but I sure wouldn't mind having the option. No worries though, I have been in touch with Eric from On/Scene Tactical, he is willing to whip a little somthing up for me.
