Just read all the stuff on the growth demise etc. of Schrade. So I thought I would let you know what is going on in Florida with Schrade. Here goes- bought a really nice 890t the other day. sharpened it and threw away the box it came in as I didn't want to be tempted to sell it in the future.

Lots of us have boxes of boxes put away. Most do fold flat for storage. I have two of the 89OT's, both are "SFO's", special factory orders. One is a Skoal promotional with green delrin handle, and the other is a Copenhagen promotional with a black delrin handle. Both have custom coined brass shields, blade etches, and unique tangstamps:

I am not sure of the years the promotion ran, but the 89OT itself was in production from 1989 -1999, eleven years total and discontinued six years ago. Of course you know it is basically an 8OT with the sheepfoot blade scalloped. I haven't had an opportunity to use them, but they are nice knives. The 89OT was the only modification to the 8OT that I am aware of.
