.....

They came a few ways, Ironstone, Spyderco and home made. I am pretty sure it's authentic Spyderco finished. Spray painted was a good guess though.

G-2 tang stamp places it at about 1992 to 1994. That finish looks like one of the aftermarket jobs to me, but I could be wrong.

I have one of these but in the ss. Looks like it was done individially. Never seen them offered on black ops.

C07BK Black titanium carbo-nitride coated. Made in the early 90's in GIN-1/G2 and again in the late 90's in ATS-55. The one in the O.P.s link shows a flat finish, where my earlier one is shiny. They could both be from Spyderco with different coatings being tried, or one or both could be aftermarket. I know Jensen sold a flat black coated Police that they had done themselves.

Yep, whithout the box it's a craps shoot. Could be a real ti-ni Police and at least somewhat more valuable than an uncoated SS of that era, or it could be an aftermarket job and worth somewhat less.

I remember that one of Spyderco's distributors had some done in black TiNi and gold TiNi.I think it was John Jensen.
