I have had one for a little over a year and it is my most EDC. It basically disappears in the pocket. Fires hard. Has SV30, a great steel. Feels great in the hand. There is nothing I dislike about the knife.

I was thinking about picking one up in that new blue color. I've herd nothing but good stuff about them but I wasn't a fan of the plain colors. There was the limited edition but they wanted crazy money for it.
 
I have a Confederate:) grey one I got from Makael..might be the one pictured in his post unless he has duplicates and he might?

also a black one. great mid size auto and with a safety which I prefer for clipped pocket carry auto. id prefer they were bigger with a 3.6" or so blade but regardless.......great auto knives for the price point.
 
Good to hear lots of positive reviews. I have had issues, in the past with knives other than Buck, with the same type of screw close to blade and safety.
 
The safety is next to the fire button, so I can disengage the safety and open the knife in one motion of my thumb, as it should be. My only reservation is purely subjective, I would prefer a flat grind purely for the sake of appearance.

Flat grind or a high hollow grind and get rid of the useless hole in the blade would be great.
 
Was in the store and there was the 2019 898 in od green. Looks like the changes for this year include tan cerakote paint safety and push button. I guess some users were confusing the pivot with the release button
Green body with black s30v blade.

The safety has a much smoother action. Not sure if their were any changes to that function.

Nobody around me has any in stock but next trip north, I'll be driving right by a huge knife shop that should have them. I'm pretty excited to see one of these.

I agree but they had the 110 Auto when I was there last so maybe they will have the new ones in stock. I'll find a way some how.

Do you like the black blades? I've had a couple and some hold up better than others so I figured I'd get some more input from ya
 
Finish so far holds up well. I carry a few different knives, most carried is the buck 110slim in Micarta. I don't have tons of carry time with the black blade on the 898.
