8mm "shiv"

in the movie 8mm, nicholas cage has some sort of push dagger type implement, with a cylindrical knurled brass (?)handle and a long, (8-10 in) ice pick type blade. anyone know if it was home made, or what?

also, anyone know the push dagger that was used in To live and die in LA when the black hit man in the projects threatens the counterfeitter (willem dafoe)

close. the icepick was longer and the grip not as long. it seemed to be hidden in a type of flat holster
