Approximately what year did the nail nick on the 8OT change from the Matchstrike style to the plain straight slot style?

Did the 885UH ever have a Matchstrike nail nick, or have they always had the straight slot style? If so, what year did they change?

Heck you are trying to pin this gal down to much. They would use it for a while stop, start, what ever suited there fancy, or the days market. Perhapes there was some official cut off. Most people stopped using them for the original reason when they start using lighters in the early 19 hundreds Bob Clemente might know, me I like to think of Schrade a loose lady who did what she felt like when the spirit arose. I do believe they revived this style for some special editions, But that is from memory so I am sure if I am wrong someone get some enjoyment in telling me so. LT

Ah, those elusive and mysterious Maids of Walden and Ellenville....who knows what "pulls" them in a particular direction??

It could only be LT.....or possibly Lamont Cranston. :D

I looked at my grainy pictures of the catalogs and guess what.. They all look like they have the matchstick thumbnail even the brandy new ones.
I'll ask old Robert cause I can't tell.
