Was reviewing some files today and came across a Camillus S-card I had forgotten about. Beginning in the mid eighties, some 8OT were made by them for Schrade. You can tell them from the Schrade made by the pin-through bolsters vs. the Swinden Key bolsters. That is all. The world needs more lerts.

:D

I'll be checking my stash.

The difference is evident on the outside of the bolsters, or you gotta look inside the frame?

Either or. Look at the bolsters first to see if a pin is apparant. If not, look into the end of the knife. A tommy-on pin is offset from the pivot pin, both of which pierce the liners, but offset from each other. Camillus made a few other OT patterns too. Perhaps Larry V. or Eric will contribute the info.

I just examined eight different 8OT variations from the collection, and not a sign of pins through the bolsters on any of them.

I'd love to collect these Camillus Old Timers, but I imagine they'd be pretty difficult to spot from typical auction photos. :(

If these were completely Camillus made, including the blades, might they be ones with a different blade swedge on the master blade.

Here's an older scan showing the different 8OT variations in my collection at that time. I can't see evidence that any of these might be pinned through the bolsters.
