Hard to believe how somethings can seem like so long ago yet seem like is was just yesterday all at the same time.

Still vividly remember that day and the lives that were lost or forever changed.

Just want to give a huge shout out to all of our service men and women as well as first responders who showed us all what the true American Spirit meant that day and beyond. Thank you all for showing us what true heroes look like.

May we never forget and always strive to make our country and our world a better place.

Garth

Yup. I still have flashbulb memories from that very day. I still remember all the stories my friends had about their parents and their experiences. Still vividly remember my weekend at my buddy's in NYC just a few weekends after the fact, visiting the site of the event, talking about it all.

There will never be enough recognition for the bravery, sacrifice, and service of our Frontline workers (emergency service people). But let us also not forget the good Samaritans who all came together to help one another, regardless of age, race, gender, sexuality, or anything else, for that matter. The event, though tragic, helped us highlight the true American Spirit, and helped us display the true strength of our country - our unity, our care for each other, our willingness to come together for a common goal.

May we never forget the tragedy. May we also never our strength and unity. May we never forget US (both as the pronoun and as the United States), being stronger than those against us, being as one, being United.

Nice sentiments. Thanks. All I can really add is that I was on the West Coast at the time. Heard the news on the radio. Flipped on the television. And started calling family and friends. The conversations were identical. And I awakened most of them. “Turn on your TV now. Huh, why, what station? It doesn’t matter, just turn it on. Oh, my God.”

I called my best friend last, as it would be an ongoing conversation. The second plane hit while we were watching. Then the towers came down. I doubt two days have passed since 9.11.2001, that I don’t think about that terrible day. Y’all be well.

My buddy’s dad was supposed to be on the Boston flight. He was being sent to their west coast branch to help out. As he was checking in at the counter, his boss called on his cell phone, and cancelled the trip last-minute, because they just found someone else closer that could help. Told him to pick up his bags and go back to the office.

Little did he know at that moment that little annoyance saved his life.

I have other friends whose family members worked at the twin towers. They were all lucky that the news broke and the towers came down before they got to work.

I’m personally very lucky that I don’t know anyone directly, or knew someone whose relative, who lost their lives that day.

Well said Garth! :thumbsup::thumbsup:

There will always be people that want to destroy the US because of our freedom, prosperity and other reasons, so we must remember 9/11/2001. We were also savagely attacked on 12/7/1941.

Thank you to all who serve in the military as well as emergency response providers (police, fire, medical and others), both then and now, for what you do! Paramedics saved my life seven years ago, and I will never forget that! God bless all of you, and God bless America!
