After 9/11 there was much talk about what was to become the "new normal" for the nation and everyone.
A lot was talked about at every level of magnitude . . .much of it anactdodal. One anactdote thqat stuck withme was this story of four tower survivors who were stuck in an elivator in one of the towers. . . .three men in suits and a window washer. They forced the doors open between floors and faced drywall.
Among the for of them only the windo washer had any sort of tool. He ripped the rubber off his squeege. The four of them took turns brute force hacking through four layers of 3/4 inch dry wall pannels. They eventually did make it out and evacuated down the stairsd to safety. That story got me thinking about what the new normal would be., could be.
Not that it is such a big deal, but from that day forward, I have never walked out the door without my multitool, a Leatherman Wave.
