I just read that due to "lack of room," NYC Police Officers, Port Authority Police Officers, and FDNY Firefighters are not "invited" to the 10th anniversary of 9/11 at Ground Zero. I also read that neither clergy nor formal prayers will be allowed at the on-site ceremony.

I know this sounds like typical email spam, but I confirmed the veracity of both issues with Snopes.

Assuming it's true, what an incredible insult to the heroic rescuers who willingly gave their lives to help others. Further, the attempt to "stand firm" on the division of church and state in the ceremony is pathetic. Bloomberg is a callous self-serving mindless politician (sorry about the redundancy).

Nobody complained about not being invited to the first anniversary, or the second anniversary, or the third anniversary, or the fourth, or the fifth, or the sixth, or seventh eighth or ninth either. Funny that everyone is suddenly insulted now. it's all part of the politicalization of 9/11. 9/11 has evolved beyond being a sacred-sort-of-thing, something approached with reverence, and it has now become a political thing to be jockeyed for. Once held above the fray, it is now acceptable to use 9/11 as a tool for political leverage.

You are absolutely correct, Mark. It is ridiculous that they will not have a Rabbi praying in Hebrew for the attending Jews at the ceremony.

I chickened out. My comment was too political. :p

This is nothing but political. We already have one Reg. User posting, so I won't move it.
And I might as well ignore what the Reg. User may have thought he was trying to say. :thumbdn:

I can pray in Hebrew for myself, I don't need a rabbi to do it for me.
