This is the knife I ran a poll on a few months ago. It's finished now. Buttcap and carved damascus nut were some work!

Fighting Bowie with Spanish Influence (gotta make me a Mediterranean Dirk one of these days)

Wow Matt, that is a beautiful bowie. Things like the carved Damascus nut are the sort of thing that, to me, make the difference between a knife and art. I keep on scrolling back down to look at the pictures of it, and every time I am struck anew by the beauty of some line on the blade or handle, and the simplicity and elegance of the design. Can you tell I like it?:)

Thanks Burke!

This knife has been like a piece of sculpture for me, that's for sure. It has changed continually since I first started it. In fact, other than the length of ricasso, everything has changed since I first ground the blade. My original concept was much different, but this is better.

This is one I had a chance to handle and it is a beauty.Nice pics. Matt but they just don't do this one justice.:) Great job

Thanks for all the kind words folks. Stumpy is right the scans don't do it justice. It also is the largest knife I can fit on my poor overused scanner. Looks like I need me one of those newfangled digital cameras one of these days.

Alas, all this internet stuff is cool, but it sure does not replace knife shows and the ability to actually handle the piece.

Thanks for sharing the pictures. I think the long clip really works well with that knife, and the detail work is just stunning!
