Well, as I start this thread, I have to say I am actually absolutely amazed and impressed.
I tried to resist buying another piece of INFI. I don't know if my collection would make me a HOG but my acquisition tactics seem to meet the HOG descriptions I have read and I feel the need for INFI. I've gotten quite a few pieces of INFI and other Busse-kin since June.
I tried not to want the NMSFNO. I really did. I tried not to think about it and I tried not to see it. But pics of NMSFNOs began to show up. It became clear to me that I was not going to be able to stand some of the pics of those beautiful pieces of INFI. Especially some of the Arctic Whites and others. The urge became almost unsustainable...
Well, I just couldn't take it anymore and utilized some tactics and placed an order for the NMSFNO. My biggest hang-up became which color. I went for Sage/Black, as I have posted support in other threads, with NO Regrets.
I came home today after a fairly rough day - from the personal side with the start of the day and how it went and with a general "not great" day at work. My day was 14 hours with 2 hours of travel. It wasn't supposed to be that long today and it just wasn't a "great" day. Then I had to head to WallyWorld with my son for some supplies so my day was just long - the wife met us there and then we all went home afterwards.
So, I was lugging the supplies up and with 7 sacks of goods in two hands (and more still in the truck) I got to the top of the steps and looked at the table - and there it was...That sizable USPS box that has become so familiar...
I recognized it but I think there was some level of shock or amazement. It didn't have a bow, it wasn't Christmas after all (yet) and there was a chance that it could have been something else.
I looked at my wife and asked, almost naively, "What is that?" She looked at me and said "Did you order something?" I paused...thinking what did she know? Is that really for me? Remember, I used some HOG tactics and she didn't know about my lust for the NMSFNO - I did order it when we were mad at each other...
She looked at me and said "It's from Busse" and smiled. She even knows how it's pronounced correctly. She said "What did you get?"
Again, I paused...was she going to be mad now that she had the Busse box right there in plain sight? Is this not-great-day going to get worse while I'm standing here with Wal-Mart sacks in my hands? Man, it just had to be the day she was home when the delivery came...
I said to her, "Remember that NMSFNO I showed you and I was talking about? I had an opportunity and had to do some maneuvering but I was able to get it while it was still at Busse to be ordered." I looked at her, trying to see if I was going to get yelled at like a teenager caught sneaking-in, drunk on Scotch...
She said - "let me see it"...and smiled! She asked "Are you excited?" with some glee in her voice. I said "Oh yeah!" Well, I got to pause and open it up and show it to her and of course my 3 year old son came over and said "Whooo, nice knife Daddy!". Well, it was a nice end to the day!
I am absolutely impressed with the NMSFNO first of all but I am more impressed about the turn-around from the Busse crew. I ordered the NMSFNO on 11/25 and it was here in 9 days with the Thanksgiving Holiday in the middle of it.
A sincere thanks to the Busse crew. It was a nice way to end my day and I appreciate the fast work on getting this one here so quick. I was not expecting this to be here so quick quite honestly.
I actually don't just like the NMSFNO - I love it. I got to put a paracord lanyard on it, it's setting right next to me as I stay up 4 hours away from when I have to get up to type this, and it's headed to work with me (but will stay in the vehicle) in a few hours.
My NMSFNO is the Sage/Black like many of the recent posts and I will get some pics up Friday or over the weekend when I can.
 Busse brothers and sisters!
P.S. - the wife never asked me about how I "maneuvered" things to get the NMSFNO here and I haven't had to give up my tactics on this INFI acquisition. I think I'm headed to HOG status...
