#9 First Hidden Tang

This was my first attempt at a hidden tang.
I don't think I did to bad!! There are a couple things I need do do different next time like, Make the tang higher and be a little more careful with a sanding drum:eek:

As you can see in the pics I have the pin to low on the handle, When I was using my sanding drum to sand out where the guard and wood meet, I went a little to deep and hit the channel I bored in the wood for the tang:mad:
But I mixed epoxy with the wood dust and covered it up.
This is going to be my shop knife:D

5/32 1095 heat treated by myself
OAL - 7''
Blade - 2 1/2''
Handle - 4 7/8''
hand rubbed to 400 grit, the brass guard is polished
Scales are redwood burl
Pin is brass

Is this your 9th knife? Looks like you are learning lots.

What's the heat treat?

It's good to have a nice shop knife around.
