9 mile outer loop - Crystal Cove

spent a few hours yesterday am with the family doing a trail hike
we live about 2 miles from here.
this is mostly a coastal wilderness area, not many trees, we were in the open sun alot, luckily we are brown


JWS SD-3 stag was my companion

this guy made things a little interesting

we like to eat at Nick's Laguna Beach afterwards

The food looks dilicious. Cool seeing a rattlesnake. What kind is that one?

I think it's a diamondback

At that location, you are where the ranges of the Southern Pacific rattlesnake and Red Diamond rattlesnake overlap.

Although overall it looks more like a red diamond, the lack of the distinctive tail marking makes me think it is a lighter southern pacific rattlesnake.

Nicks is great food! Best prime rib dip I have ever had... Cool looking hike, haven't done that one. My wife and I love hiking, we'll need to make it out there
