I was playing with my classic seb somehow the lock didn't engage properly came back and bite my finger yes my finger is still one piece but end up cutting myself it didn't hurt that bad but was kind of embarrassed when i went to the urgency room. They asked me how i did it to myself...
Now if it were any other knife it would probably ended up destroyed, but is one of my sebs so i guess i'll have to keep it and look at it everyday. :grumpy: the blade was so sharp and it was brand new, haven't cut anything yet, but myself.
EDIT:
Ok how it happened;
The lock disengaged because i opened the blade slowly and the lock made like 10% contact or even less on the tang of the blade, since it was a brand new and the lock slab hasn't been worn yet it didn't travel far down like my other sebs. I was doing some spine whack testing and you know the rest
P.S.
Damn can't pull a picture bcuz i don't know how to transfer my cellphone to computer.

Let's see some pictures.

I almost did this as well. I felt embarrassed just thinking about sheepishly going into the emergency room.

Just curious greenstuff, how exactly did you do this? Where trying to flip the knife open or something and swung it back on your finger? How could the lock not engage if you opened it? Again, just curious. I don't want to be the next victim!
:D

I always thought stitches was a part of life...a part of finding your limits with knives. Mine came from using a slipjoint knife to clean rollers in a film developer. A very quick lesson effecting my future purchases...a long lasting lesson in buying quality too! ;)

wear your stitches with pride! :p

Don't feel bad, I was watching Cirque Du Soleil and afterwards was doing dishes and decided to juggle one of our large Henkel kitchen knives and caught it just fine 3 times. The 4th time however I gripped down only to notice that I had grabbed half handle, half blade. At the emergency room with my wife I said " um, I did it while doing dishes". Thankfully it was only three stitches, and the worst part wasn't the cut but the novocaine shot!

I have cut myself many times but never went to get stitches even though I probably needed them. My formula: bacitracin+tight bandage and/or butterfly bandage over gauze=healed, nifty scar, and no embarrasment.

Band-aid brand liquid bandaid, and/or crazy glue is always good to have around.
:D

That's a good start. Now a real knife guy looks more like this:

HAHAHA !!! Don't lend you knife to that guy ! The trick of closing a one hander is to not have your fingers over the slot and to only put your finger on the rear of the knife to close it !!
