OK Anyone wishing to donate 9" tests knives may do so. We will need the knives in house by the 21st.

The test will focus on the Cold Steel Trailmaster -vs- The Busse Basic #9 to settle an old and long time coming question. Also I will anounce the date and time of the test so anyone is welcome to come by and watch. I would really apreciate if someone would do this.

NO MAD DOGS PLEASE

Mike, I am not sure I can swing it with all the customers awaiting knives from me, but I will try to have a 9" in A-2 for the test, just to see how the A-2 stacks up with the others.

I just wanted to say Great Job on the tests! but I not even going to talk about the mad puppy thing. but you don't see Lynn Thompson saying anything. and right now is the best time for me to shut up before I dig a deeper hole for myself.

by the way is it just me or did the busse look more like a machette then a knife?

Wish I were close enough to come by. Your tests are proving very interesting. Thanks again for doing them.

Also, thanks to those who contribute the knives being tested!

Could you add a Marble's Trailmaker in the test? I know it's 10", but I'm really interested to know how this knife compares to the others. I just got one and I like it better than my CS trailmaster.

Mike,

Oh darn, and I JUST had a MD TUSK that I sold that I would have LOVED to have put in on the test.

If I wouldn't have sold it last time, I was going to recreate the first (and second) infamous "TUSK vs. whatever" tests. Oh well, I never did have the best timing!

Take care,

The Nov issue of "Knife World" did quite an article on the 10" Marbles Trailmaker Bison.
They cut lots of wood, rope, etc. It did excellent. Only critisism was the sheath leather was too thin.

Mike, sending my knife to you monday. This time i will put a description of materials, price etc...

Thanks Matt.

I would like to second the motion for the Marbles Trailmaker. The 7" Trailmaker version IMHO would have faired pretty well with your 7" test (which was pretty darn good!). Looking forward to the next test.

Take care,
Tom

Lets try to do it around Thanksgiving in Orlando. We can do it at my resort timeshare. I am bonded by Boeing Company on any hardware or software products that I touch, so at least I can be trusted.

Nam,

That is actually a good suggestion. We can do the test in Orlando. I will try to get the time. What Timeshare do you have there? I got one too outside Universal at Grande Vista. We can announce the time and even invite Earl Stewart. Or at least announce the time and place so he can get a telescope

As far as adding knives for the test you can nominate any knife you wish. The trick here is you will need to send me the knife. I will send it back after testing and the knife must be new with a virgin edge.

Hi Mike et. All,

Unfortunately I cannot donate a knife

so I hope I am not too out of line for making a request...I would really like to see a Cold Steel in San Mai III, a Newt Livesay RTAK, a Tactical Ops Anaconda, and a Strider PAB (I ESPECIALLY want to see that one tested) compete for second place (since we all know the Busse will win

).

Thanks,
RL
